Chelsea want Real's Raphael Varane as John Terry back-up as Man City eye Pepe

JOSE MOURINHO wants to bring Raphael Varane to Chelsea as back up for John Terry next season but may miss out if Manchester City land Pepe and Real Madrid can't land Laurent Koscielny from Arsenal.

Reports in Spain suggest that Mourinho wants to be reunited with Varane having worked with him during his time at Real.
Varane has failed to displace Pepe at the heart of Real's defence this season - despite Carlo Ancelotti's doubts over the Portuguese defender - as doubts linger over how the youngster has recovered from knee surgery.
Those doubts mean that Mourinho hopes to be able to negotiate a discount for Varane, who has a £165m buy-out clause in his contract.
However, Real will be reluctant to let Varane go under any circumstances if Pepe leaves and they are not able to bring in a suitable replacement.
